• Quilting Cotton Prints: This bag is mostly florals and other prints, but not many stripes or dots and no repeats.
• Dots and Stripes: This is a variety of stripe and dot prints.  There are repeats in this bag, but no more than two of each print. 
• Tiny Scraps: This is a mix of everything--florals, dots, stripes, and other prints.  There are repeats and sometimes multiple pieces of one print.

What's Going On

Well here we are in the summer doldrums and even though I'm not feeling super energetic, I'm still getting some sewing done!  Here are some of the things I've made recently and also a few new or restocked items in my etsy shop. 

Strawberry Card Wallet

This is Size 1 from the Card Wallets pattern, but with a snap instead of the strap.  The snaps I use are Snap Source Size 24 cap snaps.  These red ones are my favorite and it's time to get more.

There are also a couple coin purses available. These are also Size 1 from the Card Wallets pattern, but with the pattern pieces scaled down to 85%.

Someone bought several of these pouches and mentioned they are for her daughter's diabetic supplies.  Not sure exactly what the supplies are but maybe test strips?

Anyway, I'm always glad to hear how people are using the things I make.  It's important to name them something so you have a concrete way to refer to them, but usually the name given only skims the surface of potential uses.

New Cord Keepers

Ok, this one above already sold, but I wanted to share it anyway because the fabric used to make it is a favorite print and there is one piece of this out-of-print fabric in this scrap bag. Sold out - check this section for more scrap bags.

It's from the ABC 123 collection by American Jane (Sandy Klop) for Moda and I'm guestimating, but think this came out in 2011 or so.  You can sometimes find some of Sandy Klop's out of print fabrics for sale on her website, and there are some others from this collection available, but I don't see this one. 

Now back to the Cord Keepers.  The heart print one below is made from a fabric by Stof.  These are the last two in this print. Both are sold out, but check this section to see more ready to ship Cord Keepers.

These are fun and quick to make and a nice way to get something made and posted in your etsy store if you have a shop.  One of the things about etsy is you have to be adding new listings all the time.  They don't specifically spell out how their search works, but from my own experience adding new listings seems to help you rank higher in searches. 

Which is all fine and dandy, but can start to feel like a bit of a rat race to get things made and set up for sale!  These tiny cord keepers that can be sewn in 20 minutes or so are helpful for keeping me on track with keeping up.  Those of you with a shop know that it can feel daunting at times to keep the new stuff coming, and small things like this can help keep you going without stressing you out too much. 

The red dotty one above is made from a print from Moda (I think...).

Finally, this one is made from a light weight vintage canvas. Sold out, but check here to see if another is available in this fabric.

New Pattern + Scrap Bags

Look what's finally ready to sew!  Haha...these patterns can take a while and this one took some extra time because it shows not one, but two different patchwork layouts and also includes all the measurements for the pieces in both Imperial and Metric. 

Anyway, I think I grew some new brain cells putting this one together, but the pouches turn out so nice and the pattern itself looks fantastic!  The instruction photos are bright and colorful and have white backgrounds to conserve your ink. 

Here's a quick recap:

• Two Sizes - Size 1 is oriented horizontally and Size 2 is oriented vertically. 
• These are well padded and have 4 layers of batting/muslin/fabric. 
• Both fit glasses up to 5.75" wide x 2" high x 1.5" deep (146mm x 51mm x 38mm).  The width and height measurements refer to the frame front and the depth is the height from back to front when they are closed. 
• Size 1 will hold a phone up to 5.5" high x 2 5/8" wide. 
• Includes patchwork layouts for both sizes.
• Comes with dimensions for all the patches. 
• You can also skip the patchwork if it's not your thing!

Two remnant pieces of a print from Tokyo Milk's Neptune and the Mermaid collection are available here.   I were more of a flashy dresser, I would use these pieces to make embellished jeans like these beauties (don't bother clicking the pin--it doesn't go anywhere).
