Of course, my inner critic always tells me I SHOULD have done more during the week, but really I'm plenty productive. Looking back at the week definitely helps (though I've been slacking on weekly recaps lately) me understand exactly what I did do, and that is was enough.
So let's run through what happened.
The main thing that happened was a new pattern for these pouches:
A new type of photo has also been added to the description for this one:
This is something I've been both meaning to do and also completely forgetting about for many months at a time. That's kind of good for me because at least if I forget then I won't get on my own case about getting it done! I'm too hard on myself sometimes and I bet many of you know exactly what I'm talking about...
The actual image could probably use some refinement, but for now it works for me. Does it work for YOU? It's meant for your benefit--especially anyone who has not used my patterns and might not know what they look like--so let me know.
Yesterday I made this tall Zip Pouch:
The front embellishment piece is a pocket this time. I topstitched around it once and then attached is leaving the top part open.
I also added a pocket inside:
The interior pocket is the pattern piece for the small size pouch without the darts.
For the wood button I used this 12 weight Sulky cotton thread:
This thread is wonderful for sewing on buttons! It's very thick so it goes fast stitching it on and it shows up really well.
The last thing I finished was this experimental embroidery piece:
I used crewel wool and it is a little heavy for this cotton fabric, so I need to work out the perfect way to back the fabric and make it all work together.
