In my photo folder there is a picture of one of these bears I made for a new baby in the family, and it is just so cute that I can't help but notice it every time I scroll by the image! It was also well received by baby, and now every time I see it I feel inspired to make another one.
And after getting that inspiration feeling probably around 10 or more times, I did made another!
This is my 5th or 6th time making this bear and each one has turned out super cute and cuddly.
The pattern is Bailey Bear from Shiny Happy World. It's available here on her website, or here in her etsy shop.
This teddy bear is fun to make because it's kind of wonky and you don't have to think about making it perfect. There are instructions, but I sew this bear in a free-form way with rough cut fabric pieces instead of cutting out the pattern piece outlines. Which makes this even more enjoyable for me when I need some unstructured sewing fun.
This one is slightly larger than what is in the pattern because for whatever reason I printed it 10% bigger and don't use an SA (I sew directly on the traced outline). I've also made a hand sized one by printing the pattern pieces smaller. So, so cute it was!
Overall, this is a playful project for an adorable stuffed bear.
