This sewing pattern isn't new, but the urge to sew something quick and easy to make met up with the urge to update some of the pattern images on my website and this cute little Two Pocket Wallet was born.
First, let's talk about the fabric because it's so pretty that you might need some for yourself. The red and pink floral fabric is from the All Weather Friend collection designed by April Rosenthal for Moda.
Over the summer I picked up a yard of each colorway of this print and each one is cheerful and sweet.
Not surprisingly, the apple red one is my favorite!

The yellow and orange colorway is super bright and juicy and is helping fill the yellow and orange deficit in my fabric stash.

The blue colorway is a nice mix of turquoise and a darker blue.

Back to the pattern...this is a good project for those new to sewing or anyone who wants to whip something up in just an hour or two.
With the exception of the lining back/flap piece, all pieces are stabilized with fusible interfacing. This makes them easy to work with and also turns out a really well-made wallet. It is somewhat firm, but still easy to sew.
In the pattern the lining back/flap piece is backed with fusible fleece. I happen to be out of fleece right now and don't know when I'll get more, so I substituted flannel for the fleece. Flannel is awesome for interlining and it worked perfectly in this project.
And finally, here's the lining:
This fabric is called Honey Bee from the My Redwork Garden collection by Bunny Hill for Moda. The bee print in this collection is getting hard to find, but google tells me it can be found right here.
