I'm attempting to break my Rose Pincushion Cuff sewing dry spell and finished this one up yesterday. Three more cuffs are cut out and ready to sew, but other projects, tasks, and errands are also calling my name. So we'll see if I get them done sooner, later, or somewhere in between!
For those of you with the pattern who are making your own cuff, I wanted to share a tip for making the rose and that is to use Wonder Clips to hold the petal pieces in place. They'll hold the pieces together so they are flat and it's easier to move the petals around if find they need some adjusting.
I'm pretty sure any of you that already have Wonder Clips would agree they are a great investment. They solve the fabric buckling issue that pinning often creates and are one of probably 10 or so tools on my must have list of things to make your sewing life easier. This list exists only in my mind, but maybe I'll put it down in writing one day.
Wonder Clips are pretty much everywhere in the sewing supply world these days, so you might check your local fabric shop. Of course, they can also be found at many, many places online.
From experience, look for Clover brand clips. I bought some non-name brand ones once and they didn't last long.
Below are just a few places on etsy where you can buy them. They come in varying quantities, colors, and sizes. The links below are to the original size and the ones I use. You can also see many more listings for them by clicking here for the general search.
