Finished this up the other day and it's now ready to go to its new home. Both polka dot prints are from Moda and the floral fabric is by Sevenberry for Robert Kaufman.
I also wanted to let you know I made one pincushion cuff with wool batting and it turned out just lovely!
Wool is a good choice for batting if you are don't want to use polyester (it is plastic after all), or if your pins tend to rust because you live in a damp climate.
The wool I used was a scrap of wool quilt batting. I snipped the pieces up into small chunks and then rolled into the batting balls for the petals. This part was easy.
For the cuff, things were a little more tricky because the wool was quite lofty and bouncy. If you are going to use wool in the rose petals, you might want to still use cotton batting (or fleece) in the cuff because it's going to be easier to deal with than the wool batting.
