A Variety of Scrap Bags

Linen Scraps

I've been on a patchwork streak lately, which means lots of rummaging around in the scrap bins!  So I pulled out some of the other fabrics besides the quilting cottons and put together a few bags of different types of scrap bags.   

Right now the bags available are:

• linen scraps
• denim scraps
• oil cloth scraps 

These are all great for the Intro to Improv Zip Pouches, or could be used for patchwork, doll clothes, textile art, fabric buttons, or whatever else you can think to make with them. 

 

 

Kitty Coasters

It's been a while since I've sewn patchwork coasters, and thought it was time to get to work on a few!

I often think about making coasters because there are a bunch of them around my house, and I use them ALL the time.  New uses for them also turn up now and again, so maybe I actually need a few more for myself.

But first I wanted to make some of these cute kitty ones to offer in my etsy shop, so here they are:

In the past I've numbered them by year and then the order they were made, so I'll stick with that system because I'm not inventive enough to come up with clever individual names.  Come take a look at them here:

New Patchwork Bag

This bag was one of my list of things to finish today (so were two more of these, but we'll see if that happens...), and I got it done! 

If you follow me on Instagram, you know I post a lot of photos.  When I'm adding photos on IG, I almost always feel like something needs has to be said in the caption, which is probably not true.  But I write something about almost every picture, and since many of the pictures are WIP shots, I'll over optimistically announce: "I'm going to get this done today!". 

Then for whatever reason, it doesn't quite work out that way.

I'll get sidetracked by something else, start another project (or two), or whatever I'm working on just flat out takes longer than it seemed like it would.  So of course when I say it, and then it does get finished that day, I feel an extra jolt of that sense of sewing accomplishment. 

Anyway...

This bag is a small Grocery Bag that I've made in pink and black patchwork. 

I've made a number of these in the pink and black theme now, and this one is probably the brightest one so far.  It's lots of fun and if you should happen to need to make it yours, you'll find it right here.   

 

Favorite Fabrics - Backyard Roses

There are some pretty sweet prints in the Backyard Roses collection from Riley Blake! I bought a 1/4 yard of this one in blue and red.

I'm using both for patchwork bags, but figured they would also make adorable buttons, and so far, so good:

 

 

New Scrap Bag

One new scrap bag of quilting cotton prints is available. 

There is also one bag of striped fabric scraps.  These are larger pieces and they are perfect making these pouches.
