I picked up a half yard of this adorable fabric from Cosmo a few weeks ago and made some time to put it to good use making the wristlet above and also some buttons.
There isn't a pattern for this bag yet, but I plan to make one. Something similar can be made using the Pleated Wristlet pattern, if you don't want to wait for this pattern.
The buttons are 1.25" and have a shank back and they sure are cute!

The instructions are for a detachable wristlet strap. I like that this only needs a clip and no other hardware.
I also like that the pocket is big enough for pens!

Here are the details for this bag:
• Pattern = Arm Candy from Dog Under My Desk
• Fabric = Robert Kaufman chambray
• Flower = Made with a Clover Kanzashi Maker. This tool makes these flowers go together much faster than folding and stitching them without any assistance. I made one years ago without using the tool and found it too much work to feel motivated to make it again. But I like the flowers, so I was happy to discover this clever little tool. The leaves are from the Rose Pincushion pattern.

Awl - Don't let this scare you, because awls are very, very useful sewing tools, but Thomas Braille lost his sight due to an awl accident. I wasn't sure I wanted to know the gory details, but I looked anyway. The good news is he eventually used an awl to create the Braille system.
Iron Off - When I share pics of the gunk that comes off my iron on IG--which I like to share because it's amazing how disgustingly dirty the iron gets!--it's surprising how many people don't realize they need to clean their iron, or that iron cleaner exists. You don't know, until you know.
Anyway, you need Iron Off, or some sort of iron cleaner, if you are going to sew. I've tried cleaning it without iron cleaner (because I was out of it) and it's horrible and doesn't work. Get some iron cleaner...
