I've been making more zipper pouches this weekend. They only take about an hour to make, so I think I've made one each day for the last several days.
Which means these pouches are stacking up around here, so some of them will be looking for new homes this week.
First up is the pretty pouch pictured here. There isn't a pattern for this pouch, but at some point in the near future it will become obvious to you why it is called #3. In the meantime, this pattern has the same zipper installation. This is my favorite way to sew zippers.
The flowered fabric is Sweet Garden and it's from a company called Fabri-Quilt. The black dots are Kei Honeycomb Dots, and the pink dot print is one of the Pimatex Basics from Robert Kaufman.
The pouch is 5.5" high x 6.25" wide and the strap is 2.25", so it is finger strap/zip pull/hanging loop and not a wrist strap.
The zipper is a Coats & Clark zipper in "Raspberry". I used one of these black plated split keyrings to make the zip pull. This was the first time I had some difficulty getting the ring on the zipper pull. Obviously, I got it done, but it was tight.

I've made three other pouches with this same type strap and it was simple to get the ring on, so I had to investigate further...

After looking at the pull closely, I see some of them have smaller holes. The pink one in the photo above is the style on the raspberry zipper. The blue pull is the one the black split rings fit through better.
