Sample Sale - Pen Pouch

Today this Pen Pouch is available as a sample.

Maybe someday pattern pieces for this will be available, but there currently isn't a pattern for this one. 

The exterior fabrics are a raspberry pink polka dot from the Pimatex Basics line and one of the Railroad Denim stripes (both Robert Kaufman).

It's lined in Dainty Daisies from Joel Dewberry's Bungalow collection, which has been quilted to a piece of flannel:

There isn't a pattern for this, but I do have something related to these zip pouches coming very soon.

Sample Sale - Mini Idea Pouch (Sold)

I don't think I've shown this here before, because it's been on my mental get it done list for a while now, and it's still there!  So here it is today as a sample. Sold - Thanks!

This is the Idea Pouch scaled down to 75%.  This is what I think of as sewing kit size and it also works for an iPad mini.

Besides the size change, the unique part about this one is it was the first time I'd used lingerie elastic for a closure loop with a button. 

The lingerie elastic is easy to sew on since it's flat and won't roll away in front of your presser foot like cord elastic sometimes does. There have been many times my perfectly centered cord elastic loop was no longer perfectly centered after sewing the layers together...

The 3/8" width of the lingerie elastic also makes it easy to grasp for opening and closing the pouch.  You can find lingerie elastic on etsy, or check your local fabric store. It often has a pretty decorative edge, which is also nice.

The red floral print is something from Riley Blake and the stripes are Railroad Denim from Robert Kaufman. 

The lining is Kei Honeycomb Dots in gold and the small pocket inside the pleated pocket has been divided into three compartments.  It was divided into half and then one side was halved again.  This works well for small scissors on one side, and then one place for a seam ripper, and one for a marking pen.

Today I Made - Tall Zip Pouch

This is the "tall" size in the Zip Pouches pattern.  

The exterior fabrics are Heath from Alexander Henry and Sweet Garden by Fabri-Quilt. 

I added a strap with a split keyring.  The strap piece I used was 10" long x 3".  The strap is the same concept as the strap in the Curvy Clutch pattern, the Pleated Wristlet pattern, and the Pintuck Wristlet pattern. 

It's lined in a raspberry pink polka dot print from the Pimatex Basics line from Robert Kaufman:

I also added a small card size pocket to the inside.  This is the pocket from when I made the Pintuck Wristlet at 75%.

This is the one from this post.  It was made using Size 2 from the additional Messenger Bag pattern pieces.

My camera is having some trouble with this color, but it is called "rose" and is what I think of as hot pink. It's not as neon as the photos might suggest.
