Another Small Origami Butterfly

This one is the same size as this one. 

I'm going to try sewing a hanging loop into the next one.  I see where it needs to go, but will have to figure out which way to fold it so it ends up at the top!

Sample Sale - Pen Pouch (sold)

Over the weekend I made another one of these "pen pouches" (sorry, no pattern).  This pouch is available as a sample today.  Sold - Thanks!

The floral fabric used for this one is a print called April Showers by Bonnie & Camille for Moda.  The red dots are from Robert Kaufman's Pimatex Basics line.   

Like the last one of these I made, this one also has the fleece fused to scrap fabric rather than fused to the lining.  The scrap fabric/fleece pieces go behind the lining fabric. This keeps the lining from getting all crinkly-wrinkly from the fleece. 

The lining is Railroad Denim and the pouch closes with magnetic snaps:

The 1968 sundress above is pretty darn cute!  I dig the collar and the sash.

Sample Sale - Sketchbook Pen Pouch (Sold)

This was my first time fusing fleece to scrap fabric instead of the lining fabric. Fusible fleece is convenient to use, but I don't like how wrinkled it looks.  Somewhere I saw it mentioned that fusing it to an underlining layer would take care of the wrinkle problem.

I'm happy to report this works very nicely!  The lining of this looks much better than if I had fused the fleece directly to the lining piece. 

So I wanted to share that bit of sewing info and thought this pouch would make a nice sample for someone.  Sold - Thanks!

Today I Made - School Days Grocery Bag

Finished up another Grocery Bag from the stack of half sewn projects. I think most of my almost done projects are done!  For now...

This is the large size from the pattern. 

The floral print is called Daisy and it's from the School Days by Sandy Klop for Moda.  The other side is Railroad Denim from Robert Kaufman.
