Button Top Bobby Pin

There are so many neat things you can find on etsy.  It's really pretty amazing.  One day I went looking for things with a base that a button top could be attached too, and some wonderful things turned up!

Of course, I wanted them all, but thought I'd start with these antique brass hair clips. 

This was so simple to make--all I had to do was glue one of these adorable pink buttons with a recessed back to the base.

Sample Sale - Passport Pouch (Sold)

My original pattern pieces for this pouch aren't the ideal size for using a magnetic snap closure, so I'm making adjustments to them.  In the meantime, that means mistakes are being made!  Hahaha...I'm a mistake machine. 

This pouch turned out really cute in this Japanese cotton/linen fabric from Yuwa, but the hidden snap is too close to the edge of the flap, and I had to make a detour the top of the snap with the topstitching. 

Which is actually a really great save someone else showed me when they did pretty much the same thing with the Idea Pouch and a hidden magnetic snap. 

But in my ideal sewing world, this would be topstitched under the snap, so this is available as a sample today. Sold - Thanks!

Today I Made - Fabric Bows

These are sweet.  Now I need to make something to put them on. 

Here is another thing I made recently, but haven't posted here:

This tall zip pouch is meant for an iPad mini, but of course it can be used for many other gadgets. 

I'm pretty happy with the top of this pouch.  The sides are not bulging out or caving inward where the zipper ends are located.  They look about as neat as I can make them. 

There aren't patterns for either of this items, but maybe someday...

It is 8.25" high x 6" wide and was made using these pattern pieces. 

The exterior fabric is a vintage cotton fabric.  It's lined in a yarn dyed cotton and the lining is lightly padded with a layer of fleece.
