A lot happened last week! Here is a quick recap and some highlights:
I went to the Stitches in Bloom quilt show at The Oregon Garden with my mom and a few other ladies.
It was fun and this show is a great size--at least for me! You can see everything in just a few hours. After an hour or two in a large crowd, I start to get over-stimulated by all the stuff to look at, the sounds, and the people moving around. Then I start to get crabby. :0[ Never take your introverts to crowded places for long periods (read more about caring for introverts here).
I picked up the Cashmere Ottoman pincushion shown above. It is from Reclaimed Wool.
She also had the most beautiful tomato pincushions! They were red cashmere and she had sewn just a few tiny glass beads to them. They were just such a pretty version of the classic tomato pincushion.A new photo backdrop is finally ready to go!
Remember this one I made from foam board? It was awesome when it was hanging on the wall. Then I moved some furniture around and had to take it down. It was like a dealing with a wet noodle 3x wider and many inches taller than myself.
Eventually I took it apart and sewed the backdrop fabric to a sheet. BUT I could not get it hung up tightly enough to keep the wrinkles from casting shadows in the pictures. There can't be ANY wrinkles.
Now I've wrapped it around a giant (48" wide x 72" high) stretched canvas. It seems like this is going to work out great. It was a real challenge getting this canvas home, but now that it's here and all ready to go I'm excited about the backdrop. It is light weight, I can move it on my own, and the fabric is nice and tight.
This also happened and is ending tomorrow morning.
Finally, I used a lot of snaps and wrote a post about my experience with them.
