Every time I get out the blowdryer, one of the curling irons, or have to move my studio lights somewhere, I'm thankful for these power cord wraps! Funny how two scraps of fabric, some interfacing, batting, and VELCRO have turned out to be so super useful.
Before I put these on the cords (read the original post here), I had a jumble of 3 curling irons and a blow dryer in a bin under my bathroom sink. Every time I pulled one out the entire mess would end up on the floor. It was annoying and one of those annoying things you replay over and over and over. But not anymore. I grab the one I want and the others stay in the bin since the cords aren't all tangled together.
For my studio lights these are also working out perfectly. Before I had them on the cords, any time I moved the lights the cords were trailing behind and getting caught on things.
Besides being really effective, I'm always happy to see these little bits of fabric. They are a nice reminder of other things I've made from the fabric!
Tomorrow I will have a quick tutorial for making these. Obviously, they are pretty simple to make, but I'll share the details of sizes, etc.
I also include an idea for packaging/presentation in case you want to give them as gifts or sell them.
