My fake iPad arrived in yesterday's mail! It arrived earlier than expected, which is always a nice surprise.
I'm happy to have this for photos and to not have to call on friends whenever I need to make sure things fit correctly.
For the Tablet Sleeve Pattern Pieces I had a friend with an iPad in a Smart Cover try both versions on to make sure the sizes fit well. I appreciated her help, but it is just more convenient to have at least this display version of my own for photos, etc.
For a brief moment, I pondered getting a real iPad, but I don't need any more gadgets! A $20 fake is perfect for me.
You can find these by looking for "dummy iPad" or "display iPad". I bought mine on Amazon. These all come from China--or at least I couldn't find any US sellers--so it takes a while to come in the mail.
It looks realistic (the Chinese names under the applications are a bit noticable though...), and actually feels real when you hold it. It has some weight, which I didn't expect.
