Weekly Sewing Goal - Can we talk about sewing projects?

Michelle finished her sewing goal from last week. Here is the first look at the sewing project Michelle will present at Sewing Summit:

This sleeve is big enough to hold your inspiration notebooks and sketch books. There is a front pocket for pens and supplies.

The journal pictured inside is a Moleskine Cahier X-Large Ruled Notebook. This sleeve is also big enough to fit an iPad. The pattern will be available soon for those looking for supply pouches and iPad sleeves.

Right now, we're calling this pattern the Imagination Container. I hope the idea of an Imagination Container makes you giggle as much as I just did. The pattern needs a new name. Do you have any suggestions? Post your ideas in the comments.

Silk & Cotton Blend Fabric

 

I don't think I've shown this fabric here on the blog.  It is in my flickr stream here, but I wanted to share it here. 

This is a silk/cotton blend fabric I kept visiting at the fabric store. It is very sheer, ethereal and amazing. 

The bolt got smaller and smaller, and I couldn't stop thinking about the fabric, so I finally bought some.  It was actually pretty reasonable with a Fabric Depot coupon, and ended up being around $10 per yard. 

My only qualm with buying this fabric is that I'm not sure what to do with it!  So for now, I'm just hoarding it and thinking about what it might become.  If you have some ideas for what to make with this fabric, feel free to share in the comments.
