A few people have asked about a pattern for these pouches and it is in progress. Look for it *maybe* this week, but realistically it might be next week. :0]

This blue one is made from a vintage tablecloth. This is the largest size (there will be 4 sizes) and right now it measures about 6.5" wide x 4" tall x 3.5" deep. I'm making this one slightly taller.

For this woodgrain one, I used a shank button for the drawstring pull. I was digging around in my beads trying to find one big enough to get the ribbon through, but tight enough it would hold in place with the drawstring pulled, and wasn't finding any beads that worked. I wondered if a shank button would work and was delighted to find it works so nicely!
It was even pretty easy to get the ribbon through the shank. First, I hand stitched the ends of the ribbon together about 1" from then ends, and then I trimmed the ends on the sharpest diagonal I could manage. The tips of the ribbon went right through the first time and a quick knot at each end finished them off.
