Yeeessss, I've learned how to keep the corners on pouches with zippers from denting! The top corners of this pouch are perfect--the zipper disappears down inside the side seams without the corners caving inward.
The dented corners that often happen to zip top bags are probably my biggest sewing pet peeve. They aren't really a big deal, but I remember the very first zip pouch I made, I thought "why do these corners look like this?????".
I see pouches where the corners are perfect. So obviously it can be done, but how?
Yesterday I tried a different way of sewing them, and it worked. They turned out so nice! It takes a bit of extra time, but it was worth it.
I'm going to make another pouch in a darker color, so the difference is easier to see. If you want to see how I fixed the corners, let me know. I will take photos and post them here.
