The Fabric Sirens are Calling Me

I'm very tempted by this sweet mermaid print.  But until I figure out what I would make with it, I'm able to resist.  It is terribly cute, but at $19.00 per yard it isn't something I can buy and horde for later.  It needs a good reason to come home with me and I'm trying really hard to think of one. 

Deer and Mushrooms

This is a different colorway of the print used to make the Dewdrop Handbag.  I like the blue & pink mushrooms in this colorway, and the little deer in this print is just so cute.  I'm going to put this one on my fabric wish list.

Last Minute Laptop Sleeve

Here are pictures of the laptop sleeve that I finished in the wee hours the night before I had to leave for my quick trip.  I used the Sandi Henderson's apple dot fabric and a wood button from Wooden Treasures.

The construction is similar to the Cell Phone Case & Camera Case, with darts on the bottom front and a flat back.  It turned out just a little too big, but that worked out ok in the end because I could put some papers I needed inside and also a slender sketch book.   I like how easy the flat back panel makes it to slide my laptop inside.  

Favorite Fabrics - Strawberries & Roses (Vintage)

A bunch of people have asked where to find this fabric.  You might recognize it from photos for the Curvy Clutch, Sweetheart Shopper & Pocket Clutch sewing patterns.  It is darling fabric and it also photographs really well, so it is one of my favorites.

I bought it from an etsy shop called Natty Naturals and then just as suddenly as her shop opened, it was gone.  So I was super excited when Vintage Cotton Fabrics let me know they have some!  Take a look at it in the "roses" section. 

Then look around at all the other fabulous vintage fabrics.  This site is pretty amazing.  I tend to find vintage fabrics a 1/2 yard here and a 1/4 yard there, so I was pretty floored to see all these great fabrics in one place.
