This tip is so easy I'm a surprised it never occurred to me to do it this way before.
Simply load your needle with two--or even three--strands of thread when sewing on buttons. It will go much faster and the buttons feel more securely attached. Use an embroidery needle or other needle with a good size eye to make threading easy.
At first I was skeptical of this technique because a lot of times my threads get out of whack when sewing on buttons and I spend some time straightening the threads, getting out knots, etc. But amazingly the threads stay nice and straight!
